  1. Dead By Dawn

    After much procrastination, I finally got around to watching Evil Dead 2 after seeing the evil hand scene on The Best Fistfights Ever!. In fact I even watched the musical in Toronto before dusting off the DVD. I have to say, the musical now makes a lot more sense.

    In case you hadn’t noticed, click on a thumbnail when looking at a list and there’s a whole new world of wonder and your fingertips… watch videos, vote, share what’s on your mind, see which fools are voting your favourites down etc. We spent a while building the page but it might be a little hidden away for existing members who use the quick vote interface and the toggle.

    The new office is wonderful, thanks for asking. This one is less full of clothes and couriers.

  2. Hello from James

    Despite my various attempts to remain anonymous I have finally relented and posted my first entry onto the Ditto blog.

    I have worked on the ditto team since the coding began way back in May 2007 and looking back we have come a long way since those heady days of powerpoint slides and empty databases.

    My role on the team varies from munging our entertainment data, through programming various parts of the site to looking after our production servers.

    So, if you visit Ditto and see the “Oops! We are down for maintenance, is there any other kind?” page, that is my fault because I will have taken the site down to deploy the latest version of Ditto. Hopefully your initial frustration is soon replaced by euphoria for that missing feature being added that you’ve always wanted! Although, I probably won’t be able to take the credit because all of the exciting stuff is developed by Pat, Mike, or Oli :)

  3. Goodbye Pine Street

    Well, our time in the creaky-floored, bare-walled, cool little startup office is at an end. The massive reel of bubblewrap has turned up, and I for one intend to roll around in it before we start packing.

    The new office is posh and corporate and I would imagine we should all make an effort to dress properly - and yes Pat, that means putting your feet away.

  4. Hello from Pat

    Well it would seem I am on the team mainly to be the butt of jokes, see this post, this comment and even my own blog tag.

    When I am not gathering information to take to Human Resources to support my harassment case <joke/> I am working on the Ditto website. Basically I take all of David’s design work (codename 2004), Mike’s database work and Oli’s CSS, wrap it up into an ASP.NET website and try and get it past the watchful eyes of Jimmy.

    As well as developing the website I try to keep an eye on the growing Ditto user community and what they are up to. I am always keen to hear people’s opinions on the site or what you think is missing so keep that feedback coming.

    For those that are into Widgets, Gadgets and other thingamajigs that are oh so Web 2.0 we are releasing a beta of our Public API and hopefully Oli will soon be telling you all about a competition for the best use of the API.

  5. Hello from tmothy

    Seeing as we’re all in a community-minded spirit, I’d like to introduce myself; I work on the marketing / content side of things, have six planets in Scorpio and usually bring my own sandwiches. My days are spent asking Pat questions, making John cups of tea (two bags and a little milk, for the record) and creating joyous lists about fun stuff (ie. clowns, scarecrows and murder.

    In other news, I’m a musician and filmmaker (usually making short films about bands and monsters); you can find links to all my nonsense on my profile. 

    So, while I still have your attention you should definitely check out the music of Man Man, Mississippi Witch, Holy F*ck and Clara Rockmore.
